★Ingredients

1 cup milk

1 small piece of fresh ginger (about 1-2 inches)

1-2 teaspoons tea leaves or 1 tea bag (black tea is commonly used)

Honey or sugar, to taste (optional)

★Instructions

  1. Prepare the Milk and Ginger: Pour the milk into a small saucepan. Peel the ginger and slice it into thin pieces or grate it for a stronger flavor.
  2. Heat the Milk with Ginger: Add the ginger to the milk and bring it to a simmer over medium heat. Be careful not to let the milk boil over.
  3. Add Tea Leaves: Once the milk starts to simmer, add the tea leaves or tea bag to the saucepan.
  4. Simmer and Steep: Let the mixture simmer for a few more minutes, about 3-5 minutes, until it turns a rich golden color and is infused with the ginger and tea flavors.
  5. Strain: Remove the saucepan from heat and strain the tea into a cup to remove the ginger pieces and tea leaves.
  6. Sweeten (Optional): Add honey or sugar to taste if you prefer your tea sweetened.
  7. Serve: Enjoy your warm ginger milk tea!
