Ingredients
For the filling:
- 2 cups fresh or frozen blueberries
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the dough:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 3/4 cup milk
- 3 tablespoons melted butter
For the cream topping:
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/3 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons milk
Optional:
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- Powdered sugar for serving

Instructions
- Prepare the blueberry filling
In a saucepan over medium heat, combine blueberries, sugar, lemon juice, and cornstarch. Stir gently and cook for about 5–7 minutes until the mixture thickens and becomes jam-like. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract. - Make the dough
In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder. Add milk and melted butter, then mix until a soft dough forms. - Prepare the cream mixture
In another bowl, beat the cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk until smooth and creamy. - Assemble the dessert
Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
Spread the blueberry filling evenly in a greased baking dish.
Take small pieces of dough and place them over the blueberries, leaving small gaps. - Add the cream topping
Spoon the cream cheese mixture over the dough pieces. If desired, brush the dough with beaten egg for a golden color. - Bake
Bake for 25–30 minutes until the top is golden brown and the filling is bubbling. - Serve
Let it cool slightly. Sprinkle powdered sugar on top and serve warm.
