Cheese-Stuffed Garlic Bread Recipe
★Ingredients
For the Dough:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp instant yeast
1 tsp sugar
½ tsp salt
1 tbsp olive oil
¾ cup warm water
For the Garlic Butter:
3 tbsp butter (melted)
3 cloves garlic (minced)
1 tbsp fresh parsley (chopped)
1 tsp chili flakes (optional)
1 tsp dried oregano
For the Filling:
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Chili flakes (optional, for a spicy kick)
Additional herbs (optional)
★Instructions
- Prepare the Dough:
In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, instant yeast, sugar, and salt.
Add the olive oil and gradually pour in the warm water while mixing.
Knead the dough for about 5-7 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it doubles in size.
- Prepare the Garlic Butter:
While the dough is rising, melt the butter in a small bowl.
Mix in the minced garlic, parsley, oregano, and chili flakes (if using). Set aside.
- Assemble the Garlic Bread:
After the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out into a thick oval or round shape (about 1 inch thick).
Spread half of the prepared garlic butter evenly over the dough.
In the center, add the shredded mozzarella cheese and sprinkle with a few chili flakes and herbs if desired.
Fold the dough over to cover the cheese, sealing the edges well.
- Bake the Bread:
Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
Place the stuffed dough onto a greased or lined baking tray.
Using a sharp knife, score the top of the dough in a crisscross pattern or diagonal lines (as shown in the picture).
Brush the remaining garlic butter over the top of the bread.
Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and crispy.
- Serve:
Once baked, remove the bread from the oven and let it cool slightly before slicing.
