★Ingredients

For the Steaks:

1 lb (450g) ground beef

1/2 cup breadcrumbs

1 small onion, finely chopped

1 large egg

1 clove garlic, minced

1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

Salt and pepper, to taste

For the Gravy:

2 tbsp butter

1 medium onion, sliced

1 cup mushrooms, sliced (optional)

2 cups beef broth

2 tbsp all-purpose flour

1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

Salt and pepper, to taste

Fresh parsley, for garnish (optional)

★Instructions

  1. Prepare the Steaks:

In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, chopped onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.

Mix until well combined. Shape the mixture into 4-6 patties.

  1. Cook the Steaks:

In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the patties for 4-5 minutes on each side or until browned. Remove and set aside.

  1. Make the Gravy:

In the same skillet, add butter and sauté the sliced mushrooms and onion until soft and golden.

Sprinkle in the flour and stir to coat the mushrooms and onions. Cook for 1-2 minutes.

Slowly add the beef broth while stirring, then add Worcestershire sauce. Cook until the gravy thickens, about 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  1. Combine and Serve:

Return the steaks to the skillet and spoon the gravy over them. Let them simmer for 10-15 minutes until fully cooked.

Garnish with fresh parsley, if desired. Serve hot with mashed potatoes or rice.

Enjoy your delicious Salisbury Steak with Mushroom Gravy!
