Steamed broccoli with olive oil and lemon

Simple Steamed Broccolini with Lemon

Ingredients:

1 bunch of broccolini (or tender-stem broccoli)

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 clove garlic, minced (optional)

Juice of half a lemon

Lemon slices, for garnish

Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions:

  1. Wash the broccolini thoroughly and trim the ends.
  2. In a large pot, bring water to a boil and place a steamer basket inside. Add the broccolini to the basket.
  3. Cover and steam for 4–6 minutes, or until the broccolini is tender but still bright green.
  4. While steaming, heat olive oil in a small pan over medium heat. Add the minced garlic (if using) and sauté for 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
  5. Remove the broccolini from the steamer and place it in a serving dish.
  6. Drizzle the olive oil and garlic mixture over the broccolini. Squeeze fresh lemon juice on top.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Garnish with lemon slices.
  8. Serve immediately and enjoy!
